DANCE ME A STORY - Dance as a medium for storytelling

Share stories with family and classmates expressing memories through movement. Develop communication skills thorough dance/movement with balance, strength and flexibility exercises.

WHEEL WORKS Intermediate – Advanced Clay

Ages 14 to Adult, limit 8 students
Yes, it’s wheely, wheely fun! Learn to “throw” pots and plates and develop your skills on the clay wheel. While this class is not for beginners, beginners are welcome. Individual attention given to each student – special projects and creative expression encouraged.

DON’T WEAVE ME ALONE!

Learn to weave on a REAL loom! This class is for rank beginners and those who need a “refresher course” to begin…again. Explore the creative aspects of patterns, color and thread with an experienced educator, weaver, and regional celebrity! (Students are asked to contact instructor before purchase or bringing a loom to class, please.)

TALK TO THE HAND! Basic Signing technique in American Sign Language with instructor Holly Boyce

Learn the basics of hand-building, wheel throwing, decorating and glazing. Design, create and complete individual projects – According to a recent student and her daughter: “It’s the best therapy!”

Students can improve self-confidence and self-esteem with experience on and off the stage. Review basic elements of theater – including audition preparation and improvisation.

Try your hand at an “old time” radio drama, from adapting the script to acting and sound effects. Enjoy creaky doors, whistling winds, footsteps and a plot dripping with melodrama.
